England Under-21s to play Romania at Wycombe Wanderers in March

In all the excitement of whatever it was that was distracting me last week, I didn’t get round to posting this update about the warm-up schedule for England’s Under-21s team ahead of their trip to Israel for UEFA Euro 2013.

Stuart Pearce’s side will play against Austria on March 25th at Brighton & Hove Albion’s AMEX but their next fixture will in fact be the visit of Romania four days earlier.

England’s first fixture at Euro 2013 is not until June 5th, so I suspect there will be one or two more fixtures to come, perhaps one at home and one closer to Israel in the days leading up to the tournament.

The game will be played at Wycombe Wanderers’ Adams Park home, a fitting venue for a game of this nature in a part of the country that can be accessed from all around (at least by road) and one I’ve enjoyed visiting in the past.

If you’re planning on going, though a word of warning: it’s a 7pm kick-off and Adams Park is not easy to get to from the local mainline railway station. Be prepared to get there early and jump in a taxi.
