Wembley Stadium naming rights sold to 4G network EE

It was reported last week that Wembley Stadium, the home of the England national football team and the professional game’s showpiece finals, will be subject to a new naming rights deal with the 4G mobile network EE. According to Joe Hare’s story for The Telegraph, the venue will retain its name and be referred to as some variation of ‘Wembley Stadium in association with EE’.

If you follow the Football Association on Twitter, it will not have escaped your notice that the game’s governing body in England marked its 150th Anniversary yesterday. The glitzy shindig in London was accompanied by a seemingly endless bombardment of self-congratulatory tweets that made the FA come across like a kid with a new toy.
