Premier League Recap: Andy Carroll, Adam Johnson and Michael Carrick in the goals

Manchester City and Wigan Athletic won their FA Cup semi-final matches at Wembley this weekend, leaving their rivals at the top and bottom of the Premier League table to take advantage, or otherwise, with their league fixtures. Aston Villa and Stoke City made little or no progress at the bottom, but the gap at the top is back to 15 points thanks to a Manchester United win at Stoke.
