Manchester City and Wigan Athletic won their FA Cup semi-final matches at Wembley this weekend, leaving their rivals at the top and bottom of the Premier League table to take advantage, or otherwise, with their league fixtures. Aston Villa and Stoke City made little or no progress at the bottom, but the gap at the top is back to 15 points thanks to a Manchester United win at Stoke.

A glorious, sunny weekend provided the backdrop for a full Premier League programme. At the top, the dull title race at least had the grace to keep itself to itself with a Manchester derby, but the big winners in the bottom half are the teams that really enjoyed themselves.
