Roy Hodgson’s first home game as England manager takes place on June 2nd at Wembley, when Belgium come visiting for an intriguing friendly that pits England against a burgeoning and highly-rated young team. Various national newspapers are reporting today that the Football Association has lined up a home England friendly against Italy for August 15th, but it won’t be played at Wembley.
Fabio Capello or Stuart Pearce, John Terry or Scott Parker, everybody knows that the Netherlands are better than England. They just are. It’s a fact. Hot on the heels of Darren Bent, Wayne Rooney and Tom Cleverley, Tottenham Hotspur’s flying full back has now pulled out of the England squad for Wednesday’s friendly against the Netherlands at Wembley, according to multiple sources.
