The Football Association held a swanky do for The FA England Awards at St George’s Park last night, celebrating players from all 24 national football teams, others who contribute to the professional and national games, and a no doubt delightful dinner.

Going for gold: the FA’s 150th anniversary logo

The Football Association has unveiled its new logo, re-designed to mark the organisation’s 150th anniversary next year. As well as goldenifying their branding, the FA will of course celebrate the anniversary with some humdingers on the field.

FA appoints West Bromwich Albion’s Dan Ashworth as Elite Development chief

The Football Association has announced its latest major hire for St George’s Park, West Bromwich Albion’s Sporting and Technical Director Dan Ashworth. He moves to the National Football Centre after eight years at the Hawthorns to become Gareth Southgate’s replacement under a tweaked title: Director of Elite Development.

Gareth Southgate resigns FA position, won’t be Technical Director

When the people of the future find TSC‘s rotted remains in a shallow post-apocalyptic grave and bluetooth the contents of the black box directly into their giant, throbbing brainpods, this week should prove confusing. Wednesday: Gareth Southgate’s manifesto for the future of children’s football and its long-term effect on the national team.

Friday: Gareth Southgate has left his position as the Football Association’s Head of Elite Development, and no longer wishes to be considered for the role of Technical Director.
