Is Anton Ferdinand race allegation the end for John Terry?

John Terry‘s position as England captain is already an indication of how far the honour has fallen. While the importance of the captain in world football is arguably dwindling away – it is not, after all, as crucial a concept as the cricket captain, for example – the fact is that this is no argument in favour of Terry’s re-appointment after having been forcibly dethroned by Fabio Capello after the unedifying debacle relating to Wayne Bridge, his ex-girlfriend, and Terry’s alleged games of phallic hide and seek.
